Intro to Archery Course

Are you trying to find a fun and exciting new hobby? Our in-depth 6-week intro to archery course has you covered. Our staff of certified instructors is well prepared to give you the skills and knowledge you need.

Regardless of your level of skill, The Archery Experience provides a wide variety of training options ideal for people from all backgrounds. Kids, youth, and adults are welcome to participate in our weekly classes.

In each of our fun, safe, and exciting 60-minute training sessions, you will learn the basics and fundamentals of archery, including form, technique, and more.

Week 1: Introduction and Safety

• Introduction to Archery equipment and its components
• Basic Safety Rules and precautions
• Range commands and whistle signals
• Proper body stance, hand placement, and basic form
• Introduction to the bow and arrow
• Practice shooting at close range

Week 2: Understanding Equipment

• Review of safety and range commands
• Understanding bow and arrow selection
• Bow maintenance and care
• Understanding arrow components and selection
• Introduction to fletching and arrow building
• Practice shooting with different types of arrows

Week 3: Advanced Techniques

• Review of safety and range commands
• Fine-tuning form and technique
• Introduction to advanced aiming techniques
• Introduction to release aids
• Practice shooting from different positions (standing, kneeling, sitting)

Week 4: Developing Techniques

• Review of safety and range commands
• Developing consistency and accuracy in form
• Introduction to aiming techniques
• Introduction to anchor points
• Using a sight or aiming aid
• Practice shooting at varying distances

Week 5: Competitive Shooting

• Review of safety and range commands
• Introduction to competitive archery
• Understanding tournament formats
• Scoring and rules
• Practice competition rounds

Week 6: Tournament Preparation

• Review of safety and range commands
• Introduction to competitive archery
• Understanding tournament formats
• Scoring and rules
• Practice competition rounds
• Assessment and review of skills learned

The cost is $30 per person, per class, or pay in full at the time of sign-up.
